About Me

My Photo
I am a youth services librarian, which means I work with ages birth-18. I love being asked about great books to read! When I'm not found with a book in my hands I'm most likely playing board games. The opinions and content of this blog are my own and are not that of my library system. My blog content is my own and not that of any committee or organization I'm involved in. A Note to Authors/Publishers: I am not currently accepting new titles to review at this time. I would be happy to read and review your book. If I you have a book that you would like to share with me, please contact me at greenbeanteenqueen (at) gmail (dot) com.

YA Movie News

A movie version of the series Tomorrow When the War Began by John Marsden has a director. Stuart Beattie, who co-wrote the film Australia, will be directing and the film starts shooting in Australia in September. This news is particually interesting to me since I just came across this series for the first time this week! Yep, the series is older but I'd just never really noticed them before. I had a set on my shelves at work this week and picked them up. I'll be reading them before the movie!

Last week I mentioned the movie version of Wendelin Van Draanen's novel Flipped. Callan McAuliffe and Madeline Carroll will play the leads. Callan is a relative newcomer, but you may recognize Madeline from Swing Vote.
Not much I know, but that's about all I could find for this week-anyone else have great YA movie news?

WOW! I loved that series growing up, but never finished it. I recently have been looking to see if I kept those books are not (now I'll have to try harder). Thanks for the awesome news about that movie coming out. And Flipped, cool! I read that with my 6th graders for a bookclub and we all loved it. Thanks for the news!

I read the Tomorrow series a LONG time ago, as a young teen. I remember liking them a lot.

I tried the first book ages ago, but somehow put it down and never finished...maybe it's time to try again.

Oh, Madeline was great in Swing Vote. That's so exciting, though I haven't read the book yet. :)

The Tomorrow series is my favortie series EVER. I was reading them while they were still being published, and I had to order some from Australia because I couldn't wait! I don't know how I feel about the movie. Will it even come out in the US?

Hope it is good. I will plan to read at least the first book before the movie comes out.
