YA Movie News

First off, be sure to check out the trailer for Cirque du Freak The Vampire's Assistant. The movies is based on the first two books in the Cirque du Freak series by Darran Shan. The movie looks great-now I just have to read the books before October!

Next up is news on the Diary of a Wimpy Kid movie. I'm still really nervous about this one translating over to movie form, but I guess I'll give it a try. Steve Zahn will be starring as Greg Hefley's father. I'm honestly not sure about this-Greg's dad is so straight laced and serious and I always see Steve Zahn as Lenny from That Thing You Do. But I'll try to remain hopeful on this one.

Now for some trailers!! The Lovely Bones is out in December and is based on the novel by Alice Sebold.

Julie & Julia is out this Friday and based on the memoir by Julie Powell. (The book came from Julie's blog entries, which as a blogger, I find very cool!)

And Ponyo is the latest from Hayao Miyazaki. Even though it's more childish than some of the one's my teens love (Howl's Moving Castle) I'm sure my anime fans will be seeing this one. It's out August 14.

  1. I'm most excited about Julie & Julia. I think Amy Adams is an awesomely talented actress!

  2. There are just SO many book-to-film adaptations going on right now. It's fantastic!

  3. I can't believe how many books are becoming movies. Great! I don't know if it's just me, but I like to read the book before I watch the movie.

I watched Cirque du Freak and it looks really good. I never got around to reading the books but my brother did and he liked them.

The Lovely Bones - I justed watched that a sec ago. Looks good, I'll have to find the novel and read before Dec.

    Great Post!

  4. Hahaha, I totally think of Steve Zahn as always from That Thing You Do also. I love that movie.

  5. I'm dying to see Julie & Julia. If not tomorrow, than Sunday! It looks awesome.
