Kate DiCamillo's latest book, The Magician's Elephant, sold movie rights. The book isn't out yet (it releases Sept. 8), and with the mention of making the movie have the same tone as The Princess Bride, I'll be checking this book out and be eagerly waiting for more movie updates.
The split for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows has sort of been confirmed by Joshua Herdman, the actor who plays Crabbe. The first movie will end when Harry, Ron and Hermione are kidnapped by the Snatchers and the second will start when they are being taken to Malfoy Manor. This could change, but I think this would make a great stopping point-and cliffhanger! Thanks to Mugglenet for the news.
Saddle Club, based on the series by Bonnie Bryant, is getting network time thanks to Discovery Kids. New episodes will air Sunday evenings on Discovery Kids. We only have a few DVDs at our library, so I'm glad I have something to tell those tweens who keep asking for more. Thanks to Cynopsis Kids for the news!

There's also a new TV promo:
This is the trailer for the latest movie from the writer/director behind Napolean Dynamite. This one's about a teen who finds out his novel has been stolen by a famous science fiction writer and is now being adapted into a movie. I'm still not sure about it, but I like that it involves books! (Yep, nerdy, I know)
