I am a tween and teen librarian and I love being asked about great books to read! I also review books for TeensReadToo.com When I'm not found with a book in my hands I'm most likely reading blogs-I'm addicted. The opinions and content of this blog are my own and are not that of my library system. My blog content is my own and not that of any committee or organization I'm involved in. A Note to Authors/Publishers: I would be happy to read and review your book. If I you have a book that you would like to share with me, please contact me at greenbeanteenqueen (at) gmail (dot) com.

In My Mailbox

>> Saturday, February 6, 2010

In My Mailbox was started by The Story Siren and inspired by Alea-who finds the best books at her libray bookstore!
I got three books I'm every excited about this week:

The Unwritten Rule by Elizabeth Scott-release date 3/16/10-For Blog Tour

-(From author's website): Everyone knows the unwritten rule: You don't like you best friend's boyfriend.

Sarah has had a crush on Ryan for years. He's easy to talk to, supersmart, and totally gets her. Lately it even seems like he's paying extra attention to her. Everything would be perfect except for two things: Ryan is Brianna's boyfriend, and Brianna is Sarah's best friend.

Sarah forces herself to avoid Ryan and tries to convince herself not to like him. She feels so guilty for wanting him, and the last thing she wants is to hurt her best friend. But when she's thrown together with Ryan one night, something happens. It's wonderful...and awful.

Sarah is torn apart by guilt, but what she feels is nothing short of addiction, and she can't stop herself from wanting more...

(I love that the main character's name is Sarah!! I love anything by Elizabeth Scott, so I can't wait to read this.)

The Agency: A Spy in the House by Y.S. Lee-release date: 3/9/10-for Traveling to Teens Blog Tour

-(From IndieBound): Introducing an exciting new series! Steeped in Victorian atmosphere and intrigue, this diverting mystery trails a feisty heroine as she takes on a precarious secret assignment.

Rescued from the gallows in 1850s London, young orphan (and thief) Mary Quinn is surprised to be offered a singular education, instruction in fine manners — and an unusual vocation. Miss Scrimshaw’s Academy for Girls is a cover for an all-female investigative unit called The Agency, and at seventeen, Mary is about to put her training to the test. Assuming the guise of a lady’s companion, she must infiltrate a rich merchant’s home in hopes of tracing his missing cargo ships. But the household is full of dangerous deceptions, and there is no one to trust — or is there? Packed with action and suspense, banter and romance, and evoking the gritty backstreets of Victorian London, this breezy mystery debuts a daring young detective who lives by her wits while uncovering secrets — including those of her own past.

(My co-worker and I so excited about this one we both squeeled with excitement and did a happy dance in my office when this arrived)

Wherever Nina Lies by Lynn Weingarten-for review-out now

-(From IndieBound): Nina is beautiful, wild, and adored by her younger sister, Ellie. But one day, Nina disappears. Two years later, everyone has given up hope that Nina will return, but Ellie knows her sister is out there. If only Ellie had a clue where to look. The book contains illustrations that serve as clues.

(I love a good mystery and the cover to this one is soo cool!)

That was my week-what did you get?
