In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren.
I didn't get any books in the mail or from the bookstore this week! I did check out some great library books though-hopefully I can find the time to sequeeze them into my TBR pile!
The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin
The Night Fairy by Laura Amy Schiltz
I also went on manga overload and picked up Captive Hearts, MeruPuri, Monkey High, High School Debut and Kitchen Princess (which for some reason I always want to call Chicken Princess!) I looked at the top circulating items at my library for the last year for teens and 87% of the books checked out were manga, so I'm going to try to read more manga. My problem is I like the shorter series and those can be hard to find. If you any manga suggestions, I'd love to hear them.
What did you get this week?

- I am a tween and teen librarian and I love being asked about great books to read! I also review books for TeensReadToo.com When I'm not found with a book in my hands I'm most likely reading blogs-I'm addicted. The opinions and content of this blog are my own and are not that of my library system. My blog content is my own and not that of any committee or organization I'm involved in. A Note to Authors/Publishers: I would be happy to read and review your book. If I you have a book that you would like to share with me, please contact me at greenbeanteenqueen (at) gmail (dot) com.

The Sky is Everywhere is on my TBR list. I haven't heard of the others but they both sound interesting especially Where the Mountain Meets the Moon. I hope you enjoy all your library books.
Here is what's in my mailbox.
The Sky is Everywhere sounds fabulous!
I really love the sound of The Sky is Everywhere. Hope you enjoy your books!
Well, I'm not sure what kind of manga you enjoy reading, but my taste runs to the girly: Shojo Beat and Tokyo Pop, mostly. Some good ones in that genre with less than 10 volumes: Marmalade Boy, Absolute Boyfriend, Kodocha no Omocha. Vampire Knight is also deeeelicious, and if you have the time, Ouran High School Host Club is a heckuva lot of fun. :)
I didn't get any books this week, but those are some amazing looking books--and I really don't need to want anymore books right now ;)
I'm really picky when it comes to manga (as in, will try the first volume in a series, but 9 out of 10 times, won't even manage to finish that one volume), but...
Off the top of my head, some short shojo series are:
Backstage Prince
Punch!
Sugar Princess
Ultra Cute
Ultra Maniac
Yurara
I second Steph Su's Vampire Knight rec, especially for Twilight fans. And the artwork! Ohmygod, I love those school uniforms!
Right now, my favorite manga series is Otomen. It's up to ten volumes in Japan, but is still ongoing. I also like Yakitate!! Japan, and The Wallflower but they're both 20+ volumes. (I like the funny, I guess.)
Steph-Thanks for the manga suggestions! I'm a shojo reader (can you tell from the ones I picked up?) I LOVED Absolute Boyfriend, although the ending made me a little mad. And I've only read one volume of Vampire Knight but it is pretty amazing!! And we've watched the Ouran Anime in my library anime club and everyone loves it!
Trisha-I'll have to check those series out! And I agree, the artwork in Vampire Knight is amazing!!
The Sky is Everywhere is a phenomenal read. I hope you enjoy it!
