About Me

My Photo
I am a tween and teen librarian and I love being asked about great books to read! I also review books for TeensReadToo.com When I'm not found with a book in my hands I'm most likely reading blogs-I'm addicted. The opinions and content of this blog are my own and are not that of my library system. My blog content is my own and not that of any committee or organization I'm involved in. A Note to Authors/Publishers: I would be happy to read and review your book. If I you have a book that you would like to share with me, please contact me at greenbeanteenqueen (at) gmail (dot) com.

In My Mailbox

In My Mailbox was started by The Story Siren. This week I got an unexpected package from Penguin which included three books:

-(From Goodreads): In this sequel to New York Times bestselling author Nancy Holder’s Possessions, Lindsay finds out that she, too, is possessed, and must return to creepy Marlwood Academy in order to rid herself of the spirit. Lindsay’s afraid of what the spirit is telling her to do—kill Mandy! But the secrets of Marlwood go much deeper than Lindsay thought. Sometimes the girls who seem like enemies are actually on your side. And the voices you trust the most—the voices that come from within—are the ones that want you dead. (This one is a sequel and I haven't read the first one!)

-(From Goodreads): The election results are in—and totally UnExpected. Now the UnPops are picketing, the Pops are preening, and Paisley’s sophomore year is a bust—again. But when best frienemy Jen’s reputation takes a beating by viral text, Paisley’s pity party is over. She rolls out a new undercover plan to save Jen’s rep, and in the process, follows her heart into a crazy complicated love triangle. Then as if things weren’t confusing enough, Paisley’s archrival—super cute, super nice, super popular Candy Esposito—steals Paisley’s UnPop popularity! First Paisley gets mad; then she gets smart. Can she use Candy’s newfound UnPopularity to save Jen’s reputation—and pull off the biggest coup since Miss UnPleasant turned the Pleasant Hill High social hierarchy on its big fat head? Hello double-crossers, good-bye double standards! Paisley Hanover is back—pucker up! (Another sequel that I'll need to catch up on the first book. I love the new covers though!)
-(From Goodreads): What if love refused to die? Haven Moore can’t control her visions of a past with a boy called Ethan, and a life in New York that ended in fiery tragedy. In our present, she designs beautiful dresses for her classmates with her best friend Beau. Dressmaking keeps her sane, since she lives with her widowed and heartbroken mother in her tyrannical grandmother’s house in Snope City, a tiny town in Tennessee. Then an impossible group of coincidences conspire to force her to flee to New York, to discover who she is, and who she was. In New York, Haven meets Iain Morrow and is swept into an epic love affair that feels both deeply fated and terribly dangerous. Iain is suspected of murdering a rock star and Haven wonders, could he have murdered her in a past life? She visits the Ouroboros Society and discovers a murky world of reincarnation that stretches across millennia. Haven must discover the secrets hidden in her past lives, and loves¸ before all is lost and the cycle begins again. (The Kiki Strike series was very popular at my library, so I'm sure this one will be too!)
I also got Runaway for a contest preview-so be on the lookout for a very cool contest starting soon!
(From Goodreads): Emerson Watts is on the run: from school, from work, from her family, from her friends, from herself.
With everyone she loves furious with her for something she can't explain, and nothing but the live Stark Angel fashion show on New Year's Eve to look forward to, Em's reached the end of her rope. . .what's the point of even going on?
But when she discovers the truth about Nikki's secret, she knows there's only one person she can turn to.
Will Christopher be able to put aside his personal feelings and help her expose her employer to the world? Is it even fair to get Christopher involved--since if he agrees, there's every chance that Stark Enterprises will try to have them both killed--this time, permanently?
Maybe it would be better for Em to just keep on running
(Luckily, I'm caught up on this series!)

Nice week! It seems everyone got The Eternal Ones. I've heard mixed things so I'm looking forward to seeing your thoughts on it.

Oh wow, you got The Evil Within? I am so jealous right now - I love Nancy Holder's work and I am really looking forward to Possessions 2 and 3, especially with the ending of 1.

Bumper year though. Possessions 2 and Crusade 1? Plus her Buffy books being reprinted? So excited.

Looks like a lot of bloggers got those three books this week. I also haven't read the first in those series, so it should be interesting

The cover of Eternal Ones is very provocative. The love story across millennia sounds like it would be great.

I was fortunate to get a copy of Runaway as part of a contest I'll be running as well. I read the entire Airhead series as a result and enjoyed it. Hope you do too!
