YA Movie News

-The MTV Movies Blog has a great article on the food that will be served at The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. I really hope I can find a way to visit the park soon-it keeps sounding better and better!

-ABC Family has two new shows based on YA series premiering this summer. Pretty Little Liars premires June 8 and Huge premires June 28.

-I read mostly YA books, but once in awhile I get around to reading adult stuff. And one of my recent adult chick lit reads that I enjoyed was Something Borrowed by Emily Giffin. The movie version of the book is set to start filming at the end of the month and stars Ginnifer Goodwin, John Krasinski and Kate Hudson. Thanks to Emily Giffin's newsletter for the news!

-Ok, and this isn't based on a book, but I'm annoyed about it so I have to get your opinion! Did you know the latest Step Up movie is in 3D?? UGH! How many pointless sequels and spinoffs and remakes do we need and now we have them in 3D? What does everyone else think about this?

  1. Honestly. I think the 3d movie trend is just never going to end. Ugh. I like a few things in it but it is getting ridiculous.

  2. I read somewhere that studios are getting behind 3D movies especially because it stops in-theater piracy. That is, because the image doesn't look right without glasses, there aren't people sitting in the audience with camcorders. But I agree: there are some movies that are cooler in 3D, but there are plenty that just don't need that.

  3. I'm tired of the 3D film buzz in general. It's just another way to make even more money. Some movies do lend themselves well to 3D but certainly not all the movies they are putting in 3D.

  4. I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thinks the 3D thing is out of control! Some movies work well in
    3D-others are just silly.

  5. 3D is going insane. :/ It's so much more expensive, too (of course, I'm fifteen; my cash flow is pretty dang limited.)
    Silly indeed.

  6. I love Emily Giffin! Can't wait to read her newest book. I think the cast of Something Borrowed is awesome. And 3D makes my eyes hurt, so I'm not a big fan.

  7. I still love good chick lit (which is hard to find these days...), so I loved Emily Giffin's book too. Didn't know it was going to be made into a movie. Very cool.

  8. Jenny-I think Something Borrowed will make a great movie and Kate Hudson will be a good Darcy.
