YA Movie News

-Katherine Paterson has an upcoming YA fantasy book, The Flint Heart, that is already in a movie production deal. The movie will be helmed by her son, David Paterson and produced by Arcady Bay Entertainment, who also worked on the movie adaptation of Paterson's Bridge to Terebithia. The book will release in 2011. Thanks Cynopsis Kids for the news.

-Travis Adam Wright is set to write the script for Here, There be Dragon and Search for The Red Dragon based on the YA fantasy series The Chronicles of the Imaginarium Geographica by James A. Owen. The movie option has been out since 2006, so here's hoping with a script writer attached, the film will get made. I have teen readers who really like this series! Thanks to Publisher's Weekly for the news.

-A new trailer for the movie Beastly was released this week. I'm more excited about the movie after seeing this trailer and now I can't wait to see it!

  2. I wasn't sure at first when I saw the casting for this one, but I like the trailers...gonna have to give it a shot. I may wait til it comes out on DVD though.

  3. I'd like to see Beastly but I doubt I'll make it to the movies for it. It looks good though.
