-The Wind in the Willows by Kenneth Grahame has a big budget movie in the works. The movie will be live action and animatronics, filmed in New Zealand and has Peter Jackson's visual effects company working on it. This could be really good, so I'm keep my hopes up for now. Thanks to Shelf Awareness for the news.
-The Breaking Dawn movie will be split into two-and it's officially confirmed. Kristen Stewart wants Bella's vampire transformation as the split for the films. I still think that makes for two boring movies with no action, but Hollywood's not listening to me, they're listening to money. Oh well.
-Disney has writing duo Kathryn Price and Nichole Millard, of The Game Plan, to adapt Lauren Kate's novel Fallen. I haven't read the book yet, but from what I hear, it will make a great movie. Thanks to Cynopsis for the news.
-The Clique series is getting a web series. Warner Premire is set to produce a web series based on the books-one report said the web series would feature new characters, so it looks like the web series might me more of a spin-off. Thanks to Cynopsis Kids for the news.
-Two Wizard of Oz based movies in the works-although I don't think either one is based on any of the books. The first is a prequel called Oz: The Great and Powerful and will be directed by Sam Raimi (of Spider-Man fame) and stars Robert Downey Jr. The other Oz movie is called Dorothy of Oz and Lea Michele (of Glee fame) has signed on to voice the lead of Dorothy. The movie is a 3D animated feature and is a new story taking Dorothy and Toto back to Oz. Take a look at the cast list on the Dorothy of Oz website-looks good and I have to admit I'm excited.
-Miley Cyrus has been cast as the lead of Janie in the movie adaptation of the novel Wake by Lisa McMann. Not exactly how I pictured Janie, but she'll bring a lot of star power to the movie, so hopefully it will get teens into libraries and bookstores. I'm looking on the bright side here, can you tell?:)
-And of course, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter opens this weekend! Is anyone planning a trip-can I go with you??:)
