YA Movie News

-The Delirium TV Show, based on the novel by Lauren Oliver, has landed a lead actress! Emma Roberts is set to star in the pilot. I think she'll be a great Lena!

-The Divergent film is getting closer! I love all the casting news that is happening! The latest is the Kate Winslet is talks for a role in the Divergent film. Kate Winslet in a YA adaptation? Yes please!

-The Book Thief film adapation is also getting closer to the big screen! Geoffrey Rush and Emily Watson are set to star along with newcomer Sophie Nelisse making her English-language debut. The film is being directed by Brian Percival who also directs Downton Abbey.

-EarlyWord reports that Ron Howard is in talks to direct The Graveyard Book by Neil Gaiman. This movie has been in development for so long and I'd really love to see it make it to the big screen!

-The film adaptation of Gayle Forman's novel If I Stay has a producer attached. RJ Cutler also produces the TV Series Nashville. Chloe Moretz is attached to star in the film. This is another film that's been in development a long time-I really hope this movie makes its way to the big screen!

-The Spectacular Now debuted at Sundance and will be releasing this summer. The movie is based on the novel by Tim Tharp.

-Stephenie Meyer has some producer experience with the film adaptation of Shannon Hale's Austenland and now Ms. Meyer is set to produce a film version of Anna Dressed in Blood based on the novel by Kendare Blake.

-NBC has greenlit a pilot for a series title Wonderland, which is set in modern day and tells the story of Alice in Wonderland.

-Did you know there's a film version of Brent Hartinger's Geography Club coming this year?  I didn't know anything about it until a coworker told me about the news from Netgalley!

-The film adaptation of Fallen by Lauren Kate has a director attached.

And not YA but still fun:

-A couple of clips from Austenland have appeared online

-Lifetime has ordered 10 episodes of Witches of East End, based on the novel by Melissa de la Cruz.

-I love Sesame Street and their new parody, Upside Downton Abbey is hilarious!

  4. I'm interested in the Delirium series but I'm really not sure about Emma Roberts as Lena-I've heard stories about how mean she is. Hope she's improved as she's matured.
