Wow - those were REALLY different. Hard to believe they're for the same book! The US one had plot, which I liked. I kind of got the sense of what the story was about. The UK one felt rather generic, like it might have been for a whole bunch of different books. But just like books have different covers for their UK and US releases, it's intriguing to consider how marketing books differs by country, too. Thanks for sharing this - and thanks as well for being part of the 2012 Comment Challenge!

Can't say I've seen dueling trailers before, either. Not sure I'm a fan, since the world building changes with something like actor accents. Plus, the UK version is shot with a darker filter than the US one, so it kinda feels like one isn't being honest about the book (i.e., is it a dark story or a fluffier one?).

For me, the first trailer (the US one) makes me want to read the book and the second one (the UK one) doesn't. I think you're right - the first one tells more about the book and that's what has me intrigued, even though the second one is maybe more visually pleasing.
