If you're an ALA member, you know that the ALA elections are coming up. This year I am thrilled that I was asked to be considered for the 2016 Caldecott Committee. One of my favorite parts of my job as a Youth Services Librarian is that I get to plan and implement storytimes. I love introducing kids to books and reading and sharing picture books with young readers and their families. I am very passionate about helping kids find the perfect book for them and I love sharing books-old and new-with them. I would be honored to be part of the Caldecott Committee and be able to share my passion for picture books. In honor of the 75th Anniversary of the Caldecott Medal, I planned a series of Caldecott themed storytimes . This was a great way to introduce my preschoolers (and their grown ups!) to Caldecott titles.
