Starry Night Blog Tour-Isabel Gillies Interview PLUS Giveaway

About the Book: (From Goodreads) Sometimes one night can change everything. On this particular night, Wren and her three best friends are attending a black-tie party at the Metropolitan Museum of Art to celebrate the opening of a major exhibit curated by her father. An enormous wind blasts through the city, making everyone feel that something unexpected and perhaps wonderful will happen. And for Wren, that something wondering is Nolan. With his root-beer-brown Michelangelo eyes, Nolan changes the way Wren's heart beats. In Isabel Gillie's Starry Night, suddenly everything is different. Nothing makes sense except for this boy. What happens to your life when everything changes, even your heart? How much do you give up? How much do you keep?  What inspired you to write for teens? I ADORE teenagers! No joke. First of all, I loved being a teenager. It's so big. The highs and lows are clearly defined, but at the same time life is bewildering. All t...

Anomaly by Krista McGee Author Interview

Please welcome Krista McGee to GreenBeanTeenQueen! Krista is the author of several young adult novels, including her newest release, Anomaly. Check it out on Goodreads! About the Book: The world has been destroyed by nuclear war, so in the future, Scientists rule and everyone lives in Pods underground. Thalli is a musician, meant to play music to enhance the work of others. But Thalli knows she is different-she is curious and feels emotions. She knows she is an anomaly. When her secret is discovered, she becomes an experiment. But she also meets others around her who can help save her-and discover there is more to the world than the Scientists are letting on.   Anomaly reminded me a bit of a cross between Matched and The City of Ember (mostly because of the setting). I think it fits in nicely with the current crop of dystopian lit as the world building is well done and I was engaged and interested in Thalli's story.  Thalli is curious and questions authority, which...

Clementine and the Spring Trip Blog Tour and Author Interview

One of the joys of being a librarian is introducing readers to books. I love when a young beginning reader comes into the library looking for a new book to read. When they tell me they want something realistic and funny, I always point them to the Clementine Series by Sara Pennypacker. In Clementine and the Spring Trip, Clementine is feeling a bit nervous about her upcoming class trip to Plimoth Plantation. She's hoping there is a lot of doing suff there, not just looking stuff. But Clementine is really worried about the eating sounds that her friend Margaret has warned her about-the fourth graders have a rule about making noise while you eat and Margaret won't even tell Clementine about what will happen if she makes noise! And there's a chance they might have to ride the smelliest bus on the field trip! What I love about the Clementine books is that just feel real. I feel like I know Clementine and her family and I love reading about them. Clementine's voice ...

Please welcome author Bethany Wiggins to GreenBeanTeenQueen to answer a few questions about her new book, Stung.  Follow Bethany on Twitter Add Stung on Goodreads About the Book: Fiona awakes from a with  a strange mark on her hand. All she knows she must cover the mark as she's thrust into a strange future she has no memory of and a world that has separated people without the mark living inside the wall and killing those outside. As Fiona is trying to figure out what has happened, she meets a boy from her past and soon they are on the run together in this futuristic Sleeping Beauty tale. Full of action and adventure and a dash of romance. Where did you get the idea for Stung? Believe it or not, STUNG was primarily inspired by a horrible nightmare I had, about waking up in my childhood home and finding everything abandoned, and then being chased out a window by an insane beast who used to be someone I loved. That nightmare is chapter one! Other parts of ...

Only the Mermish Council has declared that all land dwelling mers have to return to the ocean. And there's this pesky dance coming up that's a girls ask guys dance and Jade would have to wear a formal! This year was not supposed to be this complicated. GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: This is a great mermaid book to give tweens and young teens. While Real Mermaids Don't Need High Heels is the third book in the series, I thought it stood well enough on its own and you don't have to be familiar with Jade's story to enjoy this book. Jade is a fun spunky character and she made me laugh throughout. She's loyal to her friends and family and even though she has run ins with the school mean girl, I appreciated Jade's ability to see situations from everyone's point...
