Want It Wednesday

Never Cry Werewolf by Heather Davis Release Date: 9/1/09 About the Book: Okay, so maybe Shelby has made a few mistakes with boys lately (how was she supposed to know Wes had “borrowed” that Porsche?). But her step-mother totally overreacts when she catches Shelby in a post-curfew kiss with a hot senior. Suddenly Shelby’s summer plans are on the shelf, and she’s being packed off to brat camp. It’s good-bye, prom dress; hello, hiking boots. Things start looking up, though, when Shelby meets fellow camper (and son of a rock star) Austin Bridges, III. But soon she realizes there’s more to Austin than crush material—his family has a dark secret, and he wants Shelby’s help guarding it. Shelby knows that she really shouldn’t be getting tangled up with another bad boy…but who is she to turn her back on a guy in need, especially such a good looking one? One thing’s for sure, that pesky full moon is about to get her into trouble all over again. GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: Ok, bad boys, werewolves...

48 Hour Reading Challenge

So I'm not really sure why I'm signing up to do this considering Friday night is Teen Night, Saturday is the start of Summer Reading, and I work on Sunday, but I'm going to do it-at least partly! I've signed up to do the 48-Hour Reading Challenge hosted by Mother Reader. I'm hoping that I'll get to work on my huge TBR pile and even if I don't make it to 48 hours, I can get some reading done. Plus, I'm planning on doing a 24 Hour Reading Challenge at my library for Teen Read Week, so this will be good practice.

Traveling to Teens Blog Tour: Exclusively Chloe by J.A. Yang

This review & interview is part of a blog tour for Traveling to Teens. You can win a copy of Exclusively Chloe by checking out the Travling to Teens blog here ! Rating: 3/5 Stars Genre: Contemporary Release Date: 5/14/09 About the Book: (from Amazon): Chloe-Grace can’t help it—she’s spectacular. How could she not be with celebrity parents who have been the queen and king of Hollywood for years? And Chloe is a celebrity all unto herself as well— she’s the first celebrity-adopted kid in Hollywood. But now Chloe’s sixteen, and she is tired of every undesired moment of the world’s attention. She wonders what it would be like to be a “normal” kid in a regular school. To really understand it, though, she would need to go undercover. So after getting a “make-under” at the hands of her mother’s fabulous stylist, she enters the “real” world. But she soon finds out that there is just as much drama there as there is in Hollywood…. GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: Ok, I admit it, I read the headline...

My Favorite Childhood TV Memories

So Taren over at The Chick Manifesto posted recently about her favorite childhood TV shows, which made me realize that as far as TV shows, Taren and I are twins! Check out her post for some of my other favorites (and yes, I really do remember Today's Special) Her post also got me thinking about what shows I loved and turns out a lot them were based in books or reading somehow. My love of reading and my future profession were evident early on I think. Some of these are from my very young childhood and some are from my tween years. Favorite show EVER!! I used to practice my blurb for the end of the show with my library books (turns out this was great preperation for a future in booktalking at the library!) My favorite episodes were-Mama Don't Allow, the one where LeVar went to a diner and there were goats-I don't remember much else about it or the book they read, but I loved it, and the one with the teamwork dance number at the end . Great show-I wish it was still on...

What to Read Next?

I was looking through my keyword searches on Google Analytics and I found one that had searched for "what to read after Wake and Fade by Lisa McMann" and another one for "what to read after The Luxe series" I'd like to compile a list of great books to read next and I'd love your help! For the Wake/Fade list I'm adding Sleepless, Uglies (just because it seems to work with those interested), and Deadly Little Secrets. (There are a couple other suggestions I need to add from my Twitter post) For The Luxe, I'm having a brain fart this morning and can't think of good historical romance that I've read recently. So, could you help me out? What books should I recommend? Any other "what should I read next" lists I should make? (I'll also be posting these at my library for the summer.)
