Fun Links for Saturday

I've seen some fun things around this week and had to share:

The Baby-sitters Club: Where Are They Now? This post has a pretty funny description of what our favorite babysitters are doing these days. Thanks to my friend Brooke (via Facebook)

Author James Kennedy has a great contest going: Newbery Winners in 90 seconds. I love this video for A Wrinkle In Time (I think I saw this first on A Fuse #8)


And this I found today (thanks to Yahoo) where a girl reads Fox in Socks super fast-pretty impressive! (Although I wish it were a bit more enunciated-thank goodness there are subtitles on the screen!)

    I just saw the 90 second Newbery contest on Grace Lin's blog as well. I love the idea and am going to see if some of my students want to take part. Thanks for sharing!

    Hey, thanks for featuring the kickoff video for our "90-Second Newbery" film festival on your blog! You know, we met at ALA last summer. Remember? Remember? Good times. I hope you enjoyed the CD... and "The Order of Odd-Fish" too!

    @Literature for Lunch: I hope your students do take part! I think this is going to be a lot of fun.

    @Zombie Girrrl: It was coiled-up plastic foam, lightly tied together with string, so when the jar broke, it would uncoil creepily. (I was glad it only took one take. We only had one glass jar.)

    @James-Yes! I do remember meeting you at ALA-how nice you remember! My husband and I both loved the CD and the teens at my library are reading The Order of Odd Fish. I hope I can convince some of them to do a video-I think it's a great idea!!

Post Downton Abbey Reading List

Downton Abbey is over (with a shocking and frustrating ending!) and now I'm suffering Downton Abbey withdrawal. I've got a reading list full of books that I hope will satisfy my post-Downton Abbey cravings and I thought I'd share what's in my pile and get suggestions for other after Downton reads.
