Haymitch Rumors?

Rumors are circulating about John C. Reilly playing Haymitch in The Hunger Games movie. Although he was never anyone whose name I heard come up, I really like this pick and I think he would be great! I hope these rumors come true!! What do you think?

In other Hunger Games news, Paula Malcomson has been cast as Mrs. Everdeen. I think she looks like Jennifer Lawrence and I love when fake families in movies look like real families! (Maybe that's weird, but it's kind of a big deal to me-I hate when they don't really look like a family-anyone else??)

  1. Hmm. This is one casting choice that I'm not 100% sure about. I can't really envision him as someone whom would have been able to win The Hunger Games back in his day. I guess I unfortunately see him too much as the funny man.

  2. LOVE John C. Reilly! I think he can definitely pull off Haymitch! Underneath all that silliness is someone ruthless who won the Hunger Games. Can't wait to see the rest of the choices! ;-)

  3. I really kind of like it. I think he's a great character actor and he can be funny but serious. And I think he can pull of Haymitch as crazy but caring.

  4. Paula Malcomson was on an episode of Fringe not to long ago & she did a really good job. I am happy with her!

I know John C Reilly can do more than comedy but when an actor plays an idiot so many times it is hard to picture him as anything else. To me Haymitch is the real hero of the series so I am unsure.

  5. Hmmm, it could probably work but I can see where it would be hard for some people to picture it. From the very beginning I always pictured a very scruffy Hugh Jackman....

  6. Hmmm... I wouldn't have pictured John C. Reilly, but I supposed he could do it. In fact, the type of person I imagined when I was reading the Hunger Games was someone like Nick Nolte.

I know some people were hoping for Robert Downy Jr. but just because he struggled with his own substance abuse doesn't automatically make him perfect for the role which is why I think people were hoping for him.

Then again, Nick Nolte's own drunken mug shot is what made me think he'd make a good Haymitch so I guess I'm one to talk, right?

  8. I never would have come up with John. C. Reilly on my own, but now that it's been tossed about, I think it's a great choice and I hope they do it! :D

13 District Mockingjay Tour: District 4

Hello and welcome to District Four. I'm sorry that Finnick isn't here to be your host. I know as a member of District Four I should be cheering for my own tribute, but after watching the last two Hunger Games play out I have fallen in love with Peeta Mellark! Why do I love Peeta? He's smart, he's funny, and he's charming. He stands up for what he believes, he's loyal and he's not afraid to do what's right. He's sensitive and caring but can also be strong and kick butt. He fights for Katniss and with Katniss. Peeta is a great diplomat and he knows how to bring people together. He can also be sneaky to get what he wants. Plus, did I mention he can bake? And he's hot!! But it's not just me! We have an underground club of sorts here in District Four-Seafaring Librarians for Peeta! Here's what some of our members had to say about their love for Peeta: - Team Peeta!! I love their relationship because they balance each other perfectly. Where ...
