Hunger Games Thresh and Rue

The Hunger Games has cast Thresh and Rue! Dayo Okeniyi and Amandla Stenberg will play the tributes from District 11. What do you think of the casting? I think they look perfect!!

You can follow The Hunger Games facebook page for more casting updates and news-and of course I'll post news here as well!

  3. They're perfect! I'm glad that casting stuck to the character descriptions on these and didn't whitewash them.

  4. From a visual perspective I'd say they got it right this time! I hope she's a good actress, Rue is such an important element of this part of the story. :)

I'm so interested to see who is cast as Haymitch and Cinna.

  5. Paper Bird and Little Fairy, I think in the book it mentions she has darker skin(?)...but it's been a while since I read the first one, so don't quote me on that. I kinda imagined her character to be hispanic, but I love their choice for Rue, cause that girl looks so darling. It's really going to drive home how evil the capital is when she plays the part when Rue dies!

    That's the perfect Thresh!

And you think that books sounds like it would be right up your alley, but you're in a reading slump and you're afraid to give it a try unless it fails? I knew Eleanor and Park sounded like my perfect book, but I was in such an after committee slump that I even though I knew this book would help, I just didn't want to be disappointed. I should have known better because Eleanor and Park was perfect and everything that I had hoped it wou

I've got a reading list full of books that I hope will satisfy my post-Downton Abbey cravings and I thought I'd share what's in my pile and get suggestions for other after Downton reads. Here's what I hope to be reading this year (a mix of YA and adult titles):                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  A couple Julian Fellowes reads:                And a few re-reads:                    Edited to add: What's on your Post-Downton Abbey reading list?
