A few years ago, someone asked me whether I read romance novels. Well, I have read a few, and even enjoyed some of them. But I wouldn't consider myself a regular reader of the romance genre, so what I said was, "I don't read romances. I read mysteries for the romance." What I forgot to add was that I read Middle Grade novels for the romance, too. I can hear some of my audience sputtering already. Romance, in stories for 8-12 year olds? Inconceivable! Everybody knows that readers of this age deplore "kissing books". They want action, adventure, stories about pets and fr...
I think Hugh Laurie would be awesome as Haymitch
ReplyDeleteI agree with yabooknerd, but I also think that Robert Downey Jr. would play the role of a middle-aged alcoholic who once won the Hunger Games perfectly!
ReplyDeleteDern, interesting. I was beginning to like the idea of him. Hm, yes, Hugh Laurie would be good! Ha, Robert Downy Jr would be awesome too. I do think this role needs to be a big name. Everyone else who are not huge starts are great- I'd prefer that. But I always thought Haymitch should be the big ticket guy.
ReplyDeleteI like Laurie and RDJ, but after hearing John C. Reilly come up . . . I didn't think anyone else could or should do it.
ReplyDeleteI am also not entirely sure how there schedules work out, but Robert Downey, Jr. is currently filming The Avengers. And isn't Hugh Laurie on a TV show? I know there is a hiatus.
The other news, that is in the E! story is that Woody Harrelson is who they believe will get the part. Some news last week reported Harrelson, Stanley Tucci, and Lenny Kravitz had been offered roles.
If John C. Reilly can't do it, Harrelson is actually a great second choice. He has proven he can act, and Haymitch is kinda like his character in Zombieland. Any of the three (Woody, Hugh, or RDJ) bring real acting talent to the role. Kudos to the producers, etc. for that!
I'm definitely a Hugh Laurie fan!
ReplyDeleteMy bet is on Woody Harrelson
ReplyDeleteHugh Laurie would be great!
ReplyDeleteI had originally wished for Robert Downey Jr. I just love his acting and thought he'd be perfect. When I heard Reilly may get the part, I instantly thought he'd be perfect! What a let down. I wonder why - scheduling?
ReplyDeleteI had heard that rumour about Tucci and I hope he gets a part! Such fun to watch all this unfold.
