Which ones have you read?

Comments

  1. Hmm, so this was actually a list put out by YALSA? I just saw it on people's blogs and thought it'd be fun to do. Didn't know it was library-approved. :)

  2. It was orignally posted on Facebook by a teen librarian's group, and then the person who made it (I think) posted it on YALSA yesterday. So it's semi-library approved. haha:)

  3. Wow, I love YA books but have only read 12 of the ones listed. Sad.

  4. Had no idea Rob Thomas of Rats Saw God was the same RT of Veronica Mars! What a great list. The Book Thief is in my TBR pile.

  5. Push by Sapphire is a TEEN book!? I'm pretty liberal, but most of the people in my master's level class that read it couldn't even finish it. Push is seriously distirbing. I'm still unsure if I love it or hate it and it has been three years since I read the book. It still haunts me, which is what I think sapphire intended.

  6. Debbie-I know, I felt like I should have read more too!

Jenny-Yep, Rob Thomas started out as a YA author and then went into writing for TV. I'm sure I'd like his books since I love his TV shows. I want to read The Book Thief too, but it's soo long!

Lizzy-I hadn't even heard of that book until I saw it on this list. From what I read on Amazon, I really think I'd hate it

  7. So is it YALSA that put this list together then??
I've been dying to know because, even though I don't profess to know all things YA, I was suprised at how many of the titles I had never heard of (I'd only read 18!).
Needless to say I will be creating a new tag for these titles in my librarthing collection.

  8. Rebachin-No it's not put out by YALSA, I saw it on the YALSA book listserv when someone posted a link to the Facebook page it was posted on. Here's the link to where I found it: http://tinyurl.com/bxth6j

Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell

Rating: 5/5 Stars Genre: Realistic Fiction Release Date: 2/26/2013 Add to Goodreads About the Book: Eleanor and Park are both misfits. When new girl Eleanor sits next to Park on the bus, they don't want anything to do with each other. But over the course of the school year, things change. It starts with comic books and becomes a friendship and a romance that the two will never forget. You never forget your first love. GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: Have you ever had a book sit on your shelf that you've heard so much hype about? And you think that books sounds like it would be right up your alley, but you're in a reading slump and you're afraid to give it a try unless it fails? I knew Eleanor and Park sounded like my perfect book, but I was in such an after committee slump that I even though I knew this book would help, I just didn't want to be disappointed. I should have known better because Eleanor and Park was perfect and everything that I had hoped it wou

Post Downton Abbey Reading List

Downton Abbey is over (with a shocking and frustrating ending!) and now I'm suffering Downton Abbey withdrawal. I've got a reading list full of books that I hope will satisfy my post-Downton Abbey cravings and I thought I'd share what's in my pile and get suggestions for other after Downton reads. Here's what I hope to be reading this year (a mix of YA and adult titles):                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  A couple Julian Fellowes reads:                And a few re-reads:                    Edited to add: What's on your Post-Downton Abbey reading list?
