Want It Wednesday

Chasing Brooklyn by Lisa Schroeder

Release Date: 1/5/10

About the Book: Restless souls and empty hearts

Brooklyn can't sleep. Her boyfriend, Lucca, died only a year ago, and now her friend Gabe has just died of an overdose. Every time she closes her eyes, Gabe's ghost is there waiting for her. She has no idea what he wants or why it isn't Lucca visiting her dreams.

Nico can't stop. He's always running, trying to escape the pain of losing his brother, Lucca. But when Lucca's ghost begins leaving messages, telling Nico to help Brooklyn, emotions come crashing to the surface.

As the nightmares escalate and the messages become relentless, Nico reaches out to Brooklyn. But neither of them can admit that they're being haunted. Until they learn to let each other in, not one soul will be able to rest.

GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: I love Lisa Schroeder's books. I read her books in one sitting. My dog even loves Lisa Schroeder's books!

So you can imagine how excited I was when Lisa posted about Chasing Brooklyn. Especially when I found out it involves ghosts (yay!), romance (double yay!) and that's it's a companion novel to I Heart You, You Haunt Me and that Ava makes an appearance (OMG I want this book now yay!!) So yep, I'm pretty excited about this one. And I have to say that I met Lisa at ALA and she is so super sweet and nice and one of the coolest authors! She even gave me bookmarks to take back to the teens at my library-and they went fast! So be sure to add Chasing Brooklyn to your wish list.

When new girl Eleanor sits next to Park on the bus, they don't want anything to do with each other. But over the course of the school year, things change. It starts with comic books and becomes a friendship and a romance that the two will never forget. You never forget your first love. GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: Have you ever had a book sit on your shelf that you've heard so much hype about? And you think that books sounds like it would be right up your alley, but you're in a reading slump and you're afraid to give it a try unless it fails? I knew Eleanor and Park sounded like my perfect book, but I was in such an after committee slump that I even though I knew this book would help, I just didn't want to be disappointed. I should have known better because Eleanor and Park was perfect and everything that I had hoped it wou

I've got a reading list full of books that I hope will satisfy my post-Downton Abbey cravings and I thought I'd share what's in my pile and get suggestions for other after Downton reads. Here's what I hope to be reading this year (a mix of YA and adult titles):                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  A couple Julian Fellowes reads:                And a few re-reads:                    Edited to add: What's on your Post-Downton Abbey reading list?
