Good Holiday Reads

I posted a few days ago about how I'm participating in the 2009 Holiday Reading Challenge. Right now I have Ex-Mas by Kate Brian and The Gift by Cecelia Ahern on my list to read. I have some others on hold and I'm hoping they get to the library in time. Hold lists for holiday books start early!!

I'd love your help making my Holiday Reading list. What is your favorite holiday read? Or what new release are you looking forward to?

  1. one of my fav holiday books is "A Christmas Story" by Jean Shepherd. It's like the movie, but funnier, more in depth and longer. It's a tradition in my family to read it and watch the movie.

  2. I currently have Let it Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle checked out of the library. I haven't read it yet but it looks really good!!

  4. If you like kinda sad stories about people with illnesses. Lurlene McDaniel has A Book called Starry, Starry Night where there are three really short stories about these people who go through tough things around christmas or help someone out. One is about a girl with a newborn sister who is going to die,a girl who helps a dying boy helps him with happines, and the last one is about a girl who takes care of this baby and wants to give it up for adoption.

They are kinda sad and short and are pretty good. If you don't mind that kind of thing.
They are not all Christmasy/holdiday but deal with what you should in the season time and dealing with tough things.

  5. I just read Christmas Cookie Club and Lakeshore Christmas this year - both adult books and EXCELLENT stories.

YA has some great titles: 12 Dates of Christmas, Kissing Snowflakes, Icing on the Lake (maybe more winter than holiday), Secret Santa, Snow in the Love, and Let it Snow.

13 District Mockingjay Tour: District 4

Hello and welcome to District Four. I'm sorry that Finnick isn't here to be your host. I know as a member of District Four I should be cheering for my own tribute, but after watching the last two Hunger Games play out I have fallen in love with Peeta Mellark! Why do I love Peeta? He's smart, he's funny, and he's charming. He stands up for what he believes, he's loyal and he's not afraid to do what's right. He's sensitive and caring but can also be strong and kick butt. He fights for Katniss and with Katniss. Peeta is a great diplomat and he knows how to bring people together. He can also be sneaky to get what he wants. Plus, did I mention he can bake? And he's hot!! But it's not just me! We have an underground club of sorts here in District Four-Seafaring Librarians for Peeta! Here's what some of our members had to say about their love for Peeta: - Team Peeta!! I love their relationship because they balance each other perfectly. Where ...
