Ahh, Internet...How I've Missed You

Sometimes I think it's so sad just how much my life has become connected to being online. The Internet went down over the weekend and I have been sadly missing it's appearance in my life since Friday. Luckily I was able to head to the library on Saturday and work on stuff like homework, reading blogs and checking Facebook-which is always important, right? But trying to watch a movie Saturday night without the help of IMBD? My fiance and I couldn't take it! We pretty much watch movies with the laptop nearby, looking up people whenever we have that "what were they in" question that always bugs us! And when I needed directions to take the computer to the wireless place-I couldn't Google Map it! (And I desperately need Google Maps to help me get around!)

It should be working again this week (hopefully) so reviews and other posts might be a little sparse. And if you think about, send happy thoughts to my laptop!:)

  1. Haha, I know how you feel! Lucky the Internet came back on when it did. :)

  2. Internet basically drives the world these days, the slightest blip and whole company's shudder

  4. I'm the same way about looking up phone numbers. We always recycle our phonebooks because we don't use them. If the internet ever went down I'd probably have to call a friend if I needed to look up a number. :) And we use IMDB when we watch tv/movies too!

  6. I know...I'm so pathetic. I'm always checking my email, playing games, Googling myself....it's really kind of sad.

  7. Steph-Isn't it sad how you miss it so much?

Storyheart-It really drives my world too much!

Cecelia-That's the best part of no computer-it makes me clean and read.

Alyce-I need IMDB with my movies! I'm always surprised how many people call the library for phone numbers! I guess when they can't look it up, a librarian can!:)

Erika-Glad you're internet is back too.

Bookworm-I have a circle of e-mails, facebook, blogs, and then back again that I go through to make sure I've checked everything! haha

  9. Ah, when we moved into our new house, we didn't have internet for 2 days. I seriously thought I was going to go insane.

We do the same thing with IMDB...but we usually guess who it is, and then check after the movie. Kind of like a contest.

  10. I am an imdb-a-holic too! I pride myself with answering everyone's who's that questions. If they only knew imdb was the real genius! If you have a Panera anywhere near you they should have free wifi, but I am guessing you have solved the internet problem by now.

  11. Haha, I would die without the internet! I always look up movies on IMDB and use Google maps too! I'm also addicted to blogs and webcomics, but I haven't caught the Twitter bug yet (I have an account, but I'm not obsessed.)

When new girl Eleanor sits next to Park on the bus, they don't want anything to do with each other. But over the course of the school year, things change. GreenBeanTeenQueen Says: Have you ever had a book sit on your shelf that you've heard so much hype about? And you think that books sounds like it would be right up your alley, but you're in a reading slump and you're afraid to give it a try unless it fails? I knew Eleanor and Park sounded like my perfect book, but I was in such an after committee slump that I even though I knew this book would help, I just didn't want to be disappointed. I should have known better because Eleanor and Park was perfect and everything that I had hoped it wou

Post Downton Abbey Reading List

Downton Abbey is over (with a shocking and frustrating ending!) and now I'm suffering Downton Abbey withdrawal. I've got a reading list full of books that I hope will satisfy my post-Downton Abbey cravings and I thought I'd share what's in my pile and get suggestions for other after Downton reads. Here's what I hope to be reading this year (a mix of YA and adult titles):                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  A couple Julian Fellowes reads:                And a few re-reads:                    Edited to add: What's on your Post-Downton Abbey reading list?
